Smart web design: how it works for businesses and users

CATEGORY: Web Design

People can get preoccupied with having a flashy, great-looking website for their business, one that visitors will never forget. This is an understandable goal however it can prove totally pointless if the website is not structured according web design and web development standards.

More importantly the most crucial thing to focus on when creating a website is the target audience. Think of who it is that you would like to visit your website and what kind of web design would be appealing to them. What will they be searching for in order to get to your website?

If you've got a website that doesn't seem to be generating calls or enquiries then it's possible that the web design has not taken your users into account. Can they easily navigate the website? Is the information clear enough? Have you focused on the correct keywords in your web development strategy to target the right visitors? You might also need to think of search engine optimisation (SEO) to improve the number and quality of people clicking onto your website.

Write down the words and phrases that people would put into search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing if they were looking for your business. Use this and work towards a web development & SEO campaign and an appropriate design to boost your web performance.
